2025 Iowa Division Annual Trapshoot - Ottumwa

Adult Program

Details

50 Bird Program: 25 @ 16 yards and 25 @ handicap.

Handicap will be based on the team’s average score at 16 yards, but the minimum will be 20 yards for adult teams.

Awards

Awards will be given out for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for teams (must be 5 shooters) and overall high score and runner up. Possible fun shoots after the awards, so bring some extra cash. 

Youth Program

Youth, students through high school seniors, including those that just graduated in 2025. We will have 2 divisions for our youth awards. If you are a SCTP member and you are currently a Rookie or Intermediate status that will be one group.

The other group is the Senior Division. If you are not a SCTP member, please go by the grade you just finished: elementary/middle school would be Rookie/Intermediate and high school Senior division.

• 16 Yard Targets – 25 birds – All.
• Handicap: 20 Yard Targets – 25 birds – Rookie/Interm.
• 25 Yard Targets – 25 birds – Senior.

Awards

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for teams (5 shooters) within each division.

Overall high score & runner up for female and male for each Division.

Membership

Membership is required for participation. Youth or Students are not required to have an active membership.

Costs

Individuals

$15.00 per person if registered by April 15th, 2025.  Costs increase to $20.00 on April 16th.

Individuals will be assigned to teams as space allows and as best fits the program. The Iowa Division reserves the right to squad individuals in the best interest of the event. Individual preferences will be given strong consideration.

Teams

$75.00/5 person team ($15 each) if registered by April 15, 2025. Cost will increase to $100.00 per team ($20 each) on April 16th.

Youth Shooters

Costs are paid by sponsors for the first 50 youth shooters that sign up with Lisa McIntyre, please send email Lmcintyreiaikes@yahoo.com. or call/text Lisa at 515-360-4352 by April 16th, 2024. Note, school teams may bring up to 2 squads (10 youth) of non-Izaak Walton League members. call/text Lisa at 515-360-4352.

A Youth shooter may also shoot in the Adult Division, but they must be a paid 2024 member of the Izaak Walton League. The sponsor will only pay for you once. If you have questions, please reach out to Lisa McIntyre, 515-360-4352.

Additional Details

• Light refreshments will be available for purchase.
• All registrations are considered non-refundable.
• Shooters are responsible for providing their own ammo.
• Eye & Ear protection are required for all shooters.
• ATA rules apply.
• Iowa Division Leadership, Chapter Leadership may ask any shooter to leave at any point in time for violating chapter and/or league rules.
• Note that event details are subject to change.  Inclement weather, acts of god and/or any other unforseen events may require changes.  Our goal as always is to ensure a fun and safe event.

We offer easy online registration for this event.

Offline

 It is recommended that you use the online payment process for registering.  If you are uncomfortable with online payment, please bring a check payable to Iowa Division, you may also send check to – Iowa Division of the Izaak Walton League, PO Box 1631, Des Moines, IA 50305-1631.  Checks should not be mailed after April 16th and if payment has not arrived you will need to address this in-person.
